These threats extend far beyond public health, placing significant burdens on agriculture, economies, food security, and communities. Early awareness and preparedness remain our most effective defenses against emerging crises.In today’s interconnected world, pathogens spread rapidly across borders through international travel, trade, wildlife movement, and shifting environmental conditions. For countries like Canada, protecting both human and animal health demands a global perspective—monitoring disease patterns worldwide, detecting emerging risks early, and strengthening preparedness before threats reach our borders.

This dashboard integrates and visualizes publicly available disease surveillance data from trusted international sources, including the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) via the World Animal Health Information System (WAHIS) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) through EMPRES-i. By transforming complex global animal disease intelligence into clear, accessible visual insights, the platform supports better situational awareness, early detection, and informed decision-making.
